She plays Tilly Dunnage who after years of working as a dressmaker in exclusive Parisian fashion houses returns the small Town of her birth in the Australian Outback. The movie opens with Tilly’s arrival in the night by bus. She steps out a beautiful blond in a dress she herself designed and stitched. She opens up a cigarette case lights one, looks around the dark and shuttered town and states, “I’m back you bastards”. The movie is extraordinary, many individual stories, saddness, and closure. At the end I was cheering.
