The Orville

First two seasons seem like a remake of some 90's teen drama, complete garbage! Losing me here McFarland.

TV teen drama would be a welcome change compared to the real life “adult” drama I have to deal with in my job. I am. It talking about the criminals, but rather the clueless law abiding citizens.

seriously weird.
Single sexed alien porn addiction? We must run in different circles, I'm not seeing it.

Besides, how is it worse than inter-species amoeba sex?

Or this?

Guess it's in trouble though, ratings are low.

Well let's just say after last nights episode parents are not gonna let their kids watch it.
The PTA labeled last nights episode as soft porn. I think that will lower ratings unfortunately.

Are you serious? Got any links to this? It should prove to be a humorous read.

More of a parody of soft porn I think, it was pretty out there, and pretty funny, but yeah, not suitable for younger kids, older kids have probably already seen much worse on the Internet.

My nieghbor who has children in a local elementary told me The Orville episode is not suitable for young viewership and advised parents to exclude it their viewing.
Actually I was amused by this,I live near Palm Springs Ca., their is not one heterosexual member on the City Council. It is comprised of Gay,Transgender or Bi members.
They are pushing for an all nude bicycle rally and the first all nude Irongender fluid Tri Atholton in the future.
To each their own, whatever gets you through the night...

Well, episode three just hit and it was what I would consider "normal", what with the first two concentrating on Bortys. I see they traded out the cute, strong, young girl for Patrick Warburton in an elephant mask. Possibly he'll be a regular?

Also, I noticed Robert Picardo, the Holodoctor on Star Trek: Voyager had a part.

They don't seem to have Transporter technology, when they need to go somewhere they take a shuttle, perhaps Paramount or CBS has the Copyright for Transporters, if you can even copyright a non existent tech?
Or maybe Seth just wanted to make it a little more difficult to solve problems in this universe.

They have transporters Saw them in an episode last season. Dont know how strong they are though. In one episode last season a crew member was transported off a space vehicle just before they blew it up.

Transporters and Holodecks - both devices that bedevilled later Star Trek shows ...
Its not that big a leap to imagine holodek addiction ... its like a super VR, right?

3 doctors from Star Trek in this episode. John Billingsley, the neighbor, was the doctor on Star Trek Enterprise.

Well the later shows did not have to make the holodeck a central part of the show, and write so many episodes around them. Actually, they did not even have to go there in the first place.

Holodeck addiction did exist and was covered. Lt Barkley suffered from it.

Wonder if Bob Carver and his holographic generator will FINALY get his due as the man behind the science:bowdown: . :rflmao:

Not my cup of tea. One episode was enough. But, if some enjoy? Go for it.

It's the producers who are holding their breaths...but might end up holding the bag.

Q

I think they're now struggling to find the perfect balance between snarky comedy and drama. I hope thy can find it.
