Things you tell yourself and what they really mean

"I could figure out a way to make that work."

What that actually means is; "I can envision a perfect situation where $50 and an hour of my time would make that work perfectly"
What actually HAPPENS is; "I've spent $200 on parts that don't fit after waiting a month for them and I burned myself 3 times on the soldering iron and WHY IT IS MAKING THAT #%@$@% NOISE NOW?!?!"

I've started to actually not scroll past the "For parts" listings. That, and the fact then when I get a component in the mail and it doesn't quite fit, I start thinking about how easy it would be to just give it it's own project box and run a cord.

I'm scared...
 
Well I can only use one of x in this system.

What happens is: I’ll have six more of the same type but different brand.
