Yup must times you can see it. I believe they are blue in color, 10uF and 100uF.Thanks for the comments.Like I said to me they have a clean neutral sound in my initial listening albeit with headphones.I feel I can move my Sansui out in favor of this.As to the leaking cap is it something one can see if I pop the hood?I found this for $15 and it is missing the power button but can be manipulated on.I've just been dabbling back into low powered receivers after getting away from them a number of years ago.Not something I am going to put money into just futz around with.
Interesting because these H/Ks go for real cheap compared to the same period big names which I don't go for.If I ever need an older receiver, this series is the one I'd go after. They had a slim model in the lineup for a while, and I've always wanted one just for use in tight spaces.
The cassette decks around this era were also on par with Nakamichi's, at a lower price. The better high-end stores would carry them here. I've had a CD301 since it was new, and won't part with it.
Might be a well-kept secret. I know at the time, they were praised for doing a few things that the mass market brands weren't doing.Interesting because these H/Ks go for real cheap compared to the same period big names which I don't go for.
Cool that your into the cassette. If these are good I hear you.I gave up the cassette format quite a while back but have been dabbling in it lately. Why I don't know.Might be a well-kept secret. I know at the time, they were praised for doing a few things that the mass market brands weren't doing.
If I came across a CD491 in top condition, I would possibly go for it--that was the peak of their cassette technology. I owned a later unit (when they changed from the frosted silver to a more modern black face) and while it was mechanically sound, it didn't perform anywhere near as well.
I only fire mine up once a year, actually. Just to keep it working. I guess for me it's more a case of being able to buy something I wanted decades ago. Mine sits on my computer desk for now, until I get proper storage set up downstairs.Cool that your into the cassette. If these are good I hear you.I gave up the cassette format quite a while back but have been dabbling in it lately. Why I don't know.
