Today's INDIE Playlist

More Beach Skulls (the third decent track I've heard IIRC on the new release)

Beach Skulls - That's Not Me

KXUA 88.3 FM - University of Arkansas - Fayetteville

And the reverby chord picking progression reminded me of this (it took a while to put my finger on it) -

Dead Ghosts - Roky Said

This is like the third or fourth killer (IMHO) "deep cut" from a band that I'm kinda familiar with already. I guess that's what happens when you try different radio stations.

Ty Segall - Buick Mackane

KXUA 88.3 FM - University of Arkansas - Fayetteville

I hope this station doesn't turn out to be TOO good. I don't wanna get lazy.

Another band I thought I knew pretty well (another "deep cut) -

The Growlers - In Between

KCPR 91.3 FM - Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo

I know I tease Kurt Vile's improbable drawl, OTOH I grew up with real hillbilly transplants in Detroit and to my ears Brooks has got the real deal.

Quite a few clips from these guys lately.

May have to check out their album.
Yes! I double checked to see if it was a dupe. Which reminds me it's time for a links list update.

Elephant Stone - The Devil's Shelter

KXUA 88.3 FM - University of Arkansas - Fayetteville

An oldie from the Grandfathers of Indie, sounding like a George Harrison "Let it Be" Beatles song.

Found on the Hi Fidelity Soundtrack.

Diamond Youth - Spinning

KXUA 88.3 FM - University of Arkansas - Fayetteville

I think the mystery why people like new music after they've reached the age of 30 is that music really doesn't "know" how old they are. So if I like Echo & the Bunnymen am I gonna arbitrarily not like this band cuz I'm older than 30?

Soft Kill - Savior

KXUA 88.3 FM - University of Arkansas - Fayetteville

Of course not.
