Got sidetracked and ran into this. Couldn't stop watching, so thought I would share.

Still need this one. Funny thing is I just picked up Cape Verdean Blues and Song For My Father on CD about an hour ago.
Gonna play both tonight... very few quintets I enjoy more than this one. Hard bop at its finest...

Do you have the Newport '58 album? It's one of his best as far as that classic quintet is concerned.
One of my favorite working bands, what a great album this is. Their live sides are the best - all of the Minton's material. One thing about Jaws, he always garnered HUGE respect from all the modern players including Miles and the like.
So true.It's great, but I wouldn't put it on after those two heavy albums. But comparing Silver albums is like comparing pie and cake.
