I was down at the local charity shop recently and found an original copy of Ella Fitzgerald sings The Cole Porter Song Book (MGV 4001-4). It was in fairly poor condition, but after a few sessions with my record cleaner it is surprisingly playable.

The biggest shock was when I noticed some IGD and closer inspection revealed practically no run-out groove! Out with the ruler and the inner recorded radius was only 52mm. Side two was a slightly more generous 55mm.

Anybody else come across such a small radius?

Here is a made in Mexico record from a stack of records I was gifted that has a ridiculously narrow dead wax.

I'm sure some auto/semi auto turntables wouldn't even make it to the end!

Just for fun I played it, and IGD isn't really bad at all, even up to the very last minute. It's not a bright or "hot" recording, so I'm sure that's why it works.
