It's been a bit but the stage zero stuff is almost complete... taking it for a set of tires in the morning so I can put some miles on it before tearing the front end apart with all brand new steering & suspension.

I see these still around France. Not often, but several examples over the last several years.

Not the convertible version, Edwin, this is - as far as I know - a customized unikate.

HK is that Opel Diplomat Convert. about a 1965?

1964 or 1965.

Karmann produced 347 Diplomat Coupé versions for Opel back then and only three convertibles.

The Coupé became pretty pricey in the last years, I wonder how much money somebody would be ready to spend in order to get one of the three convertibles... The V8 engines, by the way, had been produced by General Motors.

Thanks! That convertible you showed has the same body basically (windshield and surround looks exactly the same) as the US Chev. Malibu and I have a version of it called an Acadian Beaumont sold through Pontiac dealers, and I believe it's quite rare.

The 289 AC Cobra... nothing more to say. Ahhhhh I hear you cry.... "it's a Shelby Cobra, so it's American". Well the Cobra was jointly developed by AC Cars of Thames Ditton, Surrey and Carrol Shelby and if there was no AC Ace, there'd be no Cobra.

This blows my mind. Wonder what the reserve was? I don't think I even want to know what my "lowly" 356B Coupe would be worth today vs. what I sold it for in the 80's.
