Wednesday Tunes

Just spun my audiophile collector's item master recording of the # 1 Jazz album, " Breezin", good ole George B

"There are more love songs than anything else. If songs could make you do something we'd all love one another".
-- Frank Zappa, quoted from Cyber Nation's quotations section

I love George Benson!
But, right now it's Rush's hits album, 1974-1980. Just got it last week or so ago.
Playing on the Yamaha system (M-80/Carver C-1 and through the Phase Linear P-530's-- very detailed).

I'm playing Electric Music For The Mind And Body for the second time. What a great album!

S ok no need to be sorry. You still my dog, dude!

I never had the foresight to copy the cover on my scanner. I stashed the L.P. away as at last check it was worth over $50.00. I bought the Masterworks Recording on sale for around $10.00 in the 80's.. At the time i didnt care about the collectability. I just loved the record. I recorded it on a cassette and wore the cassette out. BTW they say the more you play the Masterwork the better it gets but I still don't believe that. Its gotta be hype like Bose speakers. LOL

:smsex:

Started out with 'The Ventures' and 'The Challengers'...But now I graduated to the 70's...Donna Summer....(WOW what a hottie!!!)

Spun a Direct to Disc of Laurindo Almeida/ Virtuoso Guitar, it is my absolute best sounding album and the disc is white, very cool.
Then a little Ozark Mountain Daredevils always gets me in a good mood  This is the first chance I've had to really listen to anything in weeks. Though it is a bit depressing as we still have no permanent heat in the house and the dampness is killing my album covers

Small world I was listing to Country Joe & The Fish today also only not Electric Music but for a change I spun Together. All their stuff is pretty cool but I side with you. Electric Music is a great album. Its funny how some of the political viewpoint of that era are still relevant today. I really like the part about sending the President back to Texas and making him work on his ranch.... Oh yeah!!! We could really put this idea into action today... Sorry Right

Not surprisingly, I'm listening to Handsome Family's Singing Bones- can't get this one out of the player, no matter what I try. I is possessed...............

Yeh now Im listening to John Coltrane:
My Favorite Things
Blue train
Impressions
Spiritual
Naima
Traneing In

"Well, I believe that those energies and processes exist. I just don't think that they've been adequately described or adequately named yet, because people are too willing to make it all into something that supports a religious theory of one flavor or another. If you start defining these things in nuts-and-bolts scientific terms, people reject it because it's not fun, y'know. It takes some of the romance out of being dead ... because of people's desires to have eternal life and to extend their influence from beyond the grave ... all that Houdini type stuff ... but basically, I think when you're dead ... you're dead. It comes with the territory".
-- Frank Zappa, Society Pages No. 7, January 12, 1991, quoted from The Way I See It, Barry

Listening to the late great Jimmy Witherspoon ~ "Big Blues" on the drive into work this morning. I'll be listening to it on the way home this afternoon too. Thanks Alan :thmbsp:

I listened to a very good little compilation this morning that had bands such as The Wrens, Spoon, Built To Spill, The Shins, Dave Navarro, The Decemberists, and Peter Gabriel among others.

While swapping out cds in the car, FM was on the local classic rock station. They carry a morning syndicated show called The John Boy & Billy Big Show. They are syndicated around the country, but mainly in the south. It's a redneck, Nascar loving show. Anyway, they regularly have a comedian named Tim Wilson on the show. He makes comedy records. So they were advertising a new football song of his about a rookie NFL cornerback, which he played, called Michael Vick just faked me out of my jock strap. Too funny.

JD (sippin that first cup of brew)

Jeffrey Foucault - Miles From Lightning-

Brought it to work with me last night, listened to it about 4 times, got home and put it right back on. Love at first listen.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Thanks Dave918.
