Picked up a great condition WE 756A loudspeaker yesterday. Tested with ohm meter and everything checks out. This is a pre Altec production fyi. I've been reading that the 755 is a highly sought after speaker and this is it's bigger, nicer brother. Worth?

I dont know what the fuss is about these speakers but it must do something very well. In 1996 or thereabouts I had and sold one to a friend who buys and sells in China, He gave me 1500 back then. I wouldnt be supprised if they dont bring 2,000 or better today.
I always seem to find them in singles...Due to the mono age I suppose.

i've seen them go for two grands+ before. had a quick listen with friend's, too, but i'd definitely sell for that kind of money if i had a pair.

Still has what I can only assume, are the original speaker wires connected to it as well.

Exceptionally nice example. I'd give it a 9+ out of 10 for condition, while it's not perfect the lettering appears complete on the label, you seldom see them with the gold WE transfers fully intact. You did quite well with that find.

So, we'll look for you on Ebay, then.

You know the best way to get big bucks on ebay, right?

Keep in mind this is not a sell forum. There are two other forums on AK for the purpose.

I'm aware of that; not peddling here, just stating the relevance to the price inquiry which spurred me to post here to begin with.

RRRight. Unfortunately, every post you have is discussing something you are selling somewhere else. It's a very nice find, it will bring some great ROI, but it is a sale and is verboten here. You do have an interest in the item, yes?

    To wit,

    "Primary prohibition:
ANY discussion or mention whatsoever, no matter how subtle, of anything that you intend to sell, or anything in which you have any involvement is absolutely forbidden. As in every AK forum, off-topic rants, thread-crapping, and showing lack of respect for other members will not be tolerated.

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding: THIS IS NOT EBAY. If the only reason you’re here is to attempt to drum up interest in things you want to sell, or to get information about things you want to sell, and you have no personal interest in the love of music or the equipment used to play music, leave now."

I'm in no way shape or form trying to build hype or subtly sell these here. Is this forum not to determine worth of items? Doesn't the market in which things are sold also partially determine worth? Why is it not allowed then, to ask which would be a better forum for a sale? I love vintage stereo equipment but I am also a man trying to pay his bills as well; I'm not a charity. If you guys are wondering if I plan to sell this speaker on the forums and never participate after that, you're incorrect. I don't appreciated you assuming that I'm a vulture. Thanks for attempting to police the forums.
