Anyone heard those Polk Audio subs that are $100? How do they sound? Muddy and shitty I assume. Need a sub.

Had one. Muddy and shitty. Go straight to parts-express and pick up one of their Dayton subs. I have two of their 8" subs in two separate rooms, on two separate systems. Tight and musical little suckers. 1000 times better than the cheap Polks. Now, I'm not burning down the house with them, but for most of my listening they do fine. They have sizes from 8" all the way up to 15". Highly recommended from the "budgetphile" cheap, cheerful, and surprisingly musical point of view.

And I'm not a Polk basher. I'm listening to a pair of Polk Tsi100 bookshelf speakers with the Dayton sub right now and it all sounds great together.

Those cheap Polks are junk. If you can lay hands on one, I’d suggest a Mirage Omni S10. They are surprisingly good for their price.
