HISSING PRIGS IN STATIC COUTURE--Brainiac
Upon further research there was a music label named YAZOO RECORDS. There lied the conflict.
I remember the second one. I listened to the first one most of the way through, and it seems incredibly influenced by a minimalist/musique concrete piece I've heard by Stockhausen.
Nice early blues and jazz reissue label!
Hissing Prigs.....met a few of those
Lol. Haven't we all?
That was going to be my response!
I should have put a warning on that one that it may induce flashbacks. I was cracking up listening to it again for the first time in decades. We used to play that one for friends who were under the influence and watch the reactions. That song and Laurie Anderson - Walk The Dog were go to songs in that regard.
Switched from Classical KDFC to KCSM Jazz.
Installing an over-the-range microwave for a neighbor today.
In an especially punky mood.
Listening to the vinyl version of this (which of course sounds 1,000,000 times better than a youtube rip).
One of my favorites by Laurie. She was from a town over from my hometown. We always said girls from that town were crazy, she proved our point. Made some great music doing it too...
She had Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp, Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel on her albums amongst others. More power to her...
BMG Club version OOP
4 discs , 40 page booklet.

THE KNOT--Wye Oak
Bet that old Columbia press sounds magnificent.
Do you have Rimskey's Capriccio Espagnol in an old Capitol pressing as well?
12 minutes of the finest classical I have ever enjoyed anyway that one.
"You can dance
you can make me laugh
you got x-ray eyes
you know how to sing
you're a diplomate
you got it all
everybody loves you
you can charm the birds out of the sky but I got one thing
you always know just what to say and when to go but i got one thing
you can see in the dark but I got one thing
I loved you better...
...well he was an ugly guy with an ugly face
an also ran in the human race
and even God got sad just looking at him...
...i was just laying there and this ghost of your other lover walked in
and stood there made of thin air, full of desire..."
This is another of my favorites by her, and a real system tester, amazing dynamics on the first press vinyl.
