Probably ...We have a not bad cuisine...In Naples I met people who loved American sailors.Really.In Naples I met people who loved American sailors. Once I saw the BB Iowa ..Mamma mia..It was huge.Beau....probably saw me! I found a small restaurant and wanted to try spaghetti alla carbonara. Was so good!
When I was younger in the port of Naples there were always ships of the U.S. Navy (in Naples Agnano there was a base of the US Navy and NATOas well ) and I saw the sailors who crowded the pizzerias near the Port that ate fried pizza. .. You had to stay with the Mediterranean fleet ...
@john111/LZ I was watching a Inspector Lewis on dvd last night and they were at Oxford. Walked under the Bridge Of Sighs which I believe you posted once. I still would like to know if the arch stones are cut to lock together(with a keystone) and support themselves or steel reinforced.
Not the famous Bridge of Sighs in Venice
Sounds good to me. Last time I was in Naples, I was hauling a load of tomato sauce, that I picked up even further south, to England. It would be good to see Italy at a speed of less than 90km/hr, and listen to some decent sounds at the same time. (Perhaps a side trip to the Teatro del Silenzio?)

I was one of them...USS Independence.

No, it's not for nothing .. But Venice deserves a walk .. An almost unreal city ... Beautiful! This is why driving a truck sucks at times. For all the times I've seen Venice (from Mestre), I've never been there. It doesn't look like the kind of place that you can comfortably drive into dragging a semi-trailer.
