What can I expect to hear after I get a Sansui 890 to replace a Marantz 2220b?

You will not be disappointed, the 890 is not quite as warm but a little more musical (if that makes sense) and a whole lot stronger. This is coming from a Marantz lover I bought my 2230 in 1977 and own Model 22, 2220B, 2240B, and 2245.

Have spent time with both (and quite a bit of the models both up and down the lines) and....you have a big WOW ahead! Small Marantz is very warm, rolled off highs with a punchy bass.
Big Sansui is more clear with an even slight warmth but has highs that sparkle out of that and the bass is quick and tighter. (Big Marantz is similar and a wonderful sound too.)
