What was the last movie you watched?

Spotted this on the tube while researching for another post / thread. So it's uploading, as I write. I haven't seen it since childhood [on TV]; but it seemed to be just great, then [I hope the 'film' opens where you are].

Cheers, og

Just watched, Dames on DVD. Bought it a couple years ago after seeing it on TCM. It's hard to believe they were doing videos like this in 1934.
You will know the song too. It was made famous years later.

We just watched Road to Perdition. Tom Hanks does well in an under played performance and Paul Newman once again hits it solid. A nice reminder of what a great actor he really was. Wonderfully filmed and the Father/ Son themes well played.

I’ve seen it twice and wouldn’t hesitate to watch it again. Great, great movie.

Watched War Dogs. What a story and quite entertaining.

"Whiskey Galore" (2017)
The setting: WW II, on a tiny island off the coast of Scotland. The islanders discover that they have just depleted the supply of whiskey for the entire island, a fact which changes their whole existence. When a cargo ship wrecks on the rocks offshore, and they learn that it`s cargo contains thousands of cases of whiskey, the natives quickly organize a raiding party to save whatever they can before the ship slips below the waves.

They are opposed every step of the way by a stuffy chief constable, who is determined to stop them. This is a very warm and enjoyable film !

The death of Stalin.
A profane interpretive rendering of the end of his reign of terror, and the leadership shakeup that followed.

"Unlocked" (2017)

Espionage drama, with Jihadists as the bad guys. Naomi Rapace has the lead in this one, with help from Orlando Bloom, Michael Douglas, and John Malkovich. Well-paced, good script, but maybe a little TOO reminiscent of several other films of this genre`....

Car Wash (1976) (Universal Studios 22747, upc: 025192274725, isbn: 0-7832-7834-9), dvd

This movie is more enjoyable and clever, and much less violent than similar 'stuff' produced in the 90's of the same genre.

"Sicario" (2015)
A tense drama taking place along the lawless border between the US and Mexico, idealistic FBI agent Kate Macy (Emily Blunt) signs onto a multi-jurisdictional task force to combat rampant cartel activity in the area. Several of the players involved have shadowy and questionable pasts, which makes Kate unsure of the true nature of their quest. Strong supporting roles from Benecio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Victor Garber, Jeffrey Donovan, and Jon Bernthal.

Excellent movie on all counts. Supposedly there is a sequel either being made or just completed.
