What's this Yamaha YP-D8 TT Like?

I just got it for $5 last night. Speed is dead on, but looks like there may be a part associated with the anti-skate mechanism missing on the tone arm - maybe a wire that suspends the anti-skate assembly? I dunno, and a Google search turned up nothing. Nothing on the Yamaha manuals website either.
Beautiful wood base, good cover, and the thing weighs more than most of my receiver collection - it must weigh 40 lbs!!

If anyone can shed any light on years offered, specs, etc. I'd really appreciate it. I could really use pix where you can see the tone arm pivot area, to try to figure out this L-shaped bracket and weight that is hanging loose.

You can see the "L" bracket. The string is suppose to hang with a weight, that is the antiskate weight. I believe moving the string along the notches increases or decrease the antiskate.
