I picked up a nice "get me by for now" rack for $30 today. It matches my mission style furniture and holds more gear than my shorter steel and glass one. Tight for space I kind of need to keep things vertical for now. It's 49" tall and only my MCS 3125 won't fit on one of the shelves. It will put my TT kind of up there but these old bones don't like bending over anyway.

Will that monster MCS 3125 fit in any rack? I bought that same rack in black for $30 for my dust collecting surround system. It is a nice heavy rack.

I will probably get some other components for it sometime but it has taken a back seat to my RS-Z1 rack.

Very cool. Same price too, lol. It's a good sized rack the Luxman R-1120 will fit widthwise but stick out the front. If the front posts were 1/2" wider the 3125 would fit but would also stick way out the front. If I like the rack I might add a slider shelf for the TT and put the big receiver on top. Both of them are on standby now while I'm testing out other gear.

Here's a pic of the MCS in a cabinet...... 60 lbs I had to lift it eye high and push it in from the back by myself while not tipping the rack over. It wouldn't fit from the front.

I don’t know if I’d want a 60lb vintage piece up that high.

I picked up this rack for $25 in November and it fit my 47lb Fisher RS-Z1 that I bought after finding the rack. I just bought the rack because it was cheap but quality and at the time I had no use for it. I had it sold for $100 but fortunately decided to keep it.

About a week later I found a mint Fisher RS-Z1 on eBay(4 hour drive) for next to nothing.

It was the perfect marriage.

The honeymoon is still ongoing.

It's been two weeks since my last purchase. I had to get another pair of speakers. A pair of Klipsch KG 4.5 in black vinyl (Ughh). The deal was too good to pass up - $150, and they are a step up from most of my other speakers.

Here they are in my testing room. Sadly, something is wrong with the tweeters. e-mail out to Crites is my next step.

Update on post #5576....the picture I posted was from the ad

I asked for a measurement between the posts across the front of the equipment stand and he sent me this.....

The dummy had hooked the tape measure blade on the OUTSIDE of the other post and I didn't check until I got home.

Inside clearance is actually 17 1/2"......Aaarrgghhhh!!!!

I couldn't find anything since 2019 started, but then in the past two weeks, the following showed up. Less than a Franklin for both. Amps in speakers are not working at the moment, the Onkyo TX-4500 works just fine. Turntable not included....

They work at a thrift store:confused:. Still a solid rack, but that does suck.

Ordered up a new (to me) preamp. Wyred 4 Sound STP-SE.

Buffered passive up to a point and then it becomes an active gain stage.
