Who won the raffles for the gear??

Yah but I couldn't even get 10 of them all together to fit over my gut!
So I swapped em out for some LP's and a power cord.

First time I won a "big raffle" item. I got the Redgum cd player, only had time to hook it up to system to play a few disks while I was packing my turntable. Played some hybrid SACD's that I knew pretty good and have say it made the CD layer sound as good as my Sony SCD-C555ES in SACD, maybe better. Couldn't be more pleased.

I won one of the many little bottles of 'shine-ola'...CD cleaner

but ..mrs Reel 2 Reel won the grand prize...the Yamaha CR-640 receiver. BUT!...she isnt into audio...shes a TV watcher...so who REELY got the receiver?...

ME!! buuhahahahahahahahaa!!!!!!!!

Dont tell her I said that!...

:thmbsp:

FYI - That Yamaha receiver has some AK history: It's case was redone in that black vynal by Merrylander, and auctioned off on AK to generate some revenue last year. I won it, and re-donated it to be a prize for this year's AK Fest. I hope you enjoy it, and think about AK when you have the pleasure of using it! :thmbsp:

The prizes were so numerous we couldn't possible keep track of who got what. I will say that if you attended you had about a 1 in 3 chance of taking home something really cool !

Congrats to all those that won and a HUGE thank you to the many generous companies who donated.

And how about a big hand for the BIG GUY who actually won the Red-Gum Cd-Player
but would not take it as he felt the prizes were for the patrons and not establishment!

Some had put Grumpy's name on some raffle tickets knowing he would not and he won
but would not accept it and put it back in to be reraffled! How's that for generousity!

All I know is 65 tickets and I did not win the Audio note Dac kit :( So my raffle luck is holding consistent :(

I contributed $60 and didn't get the audio note either. However, I won a very nice Grado cartridge. The amazing thing is that the cartridge I brought with me lost a channel the night before, so I desperately needed a cartridge! Now how's THAT for Audio Karma :scratch2:

Well now we both know what happened the Audio Karma gods cancelled are bowl spiking attempts. Teach us to try and take the luck out of the equation..... Glad you scored the Cartridge.

I only spent about $20.00 for the tix, and saw it as more of a support thing, 'cause I never win anything anyways. Gotta go get my lottery tickets on the way to the casino, :D
PS. I was one digit away on the first draw. You know what thet say about coming close....

I think you're right Craig. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the winners only had a ticket or two. I guess when it's your time..........

For those who don't know (or remember), this is what I can recall

Redgum RGCD2 CD Player/DAC -- won by PunkerX

Epos speakers (LS3's?) -- won by a walk-in attendee (whose wife was singularly UNimpressed, when Mrs Grumpy called his house, and asks for him, in order to tell him that he won. Mrs winner, icily, "There's SOME WOMAN on the phone for you!" Mr Winner, after hearing the news, "It's the lady from the show, I won some speakers". Mrs Winner, "The nice lady at the cash register? Oh, OK." ) :D

NHT SB3 speakers -- won by shelby1420

AudioNote 1.1 DAC kit -- won by Billfort

Zu speaker cables -- won by Grumpy

h/k A500 integrated -- won by someone whose name escapes me, at the moment. Maybe someone else, like the lucky winner, can fill me in.

Congratulations to all the winners.

Yes, the vinyl/SACD guy won the AudioNote CD dac! :)

I actually did stuff a bunch of tickets in that jar (and the HK tube amp bucket) so don't feel too bad Craig/Mark. In all the years I've been trying to find CD playback I could live with, the one piece that stood out for me as pretty damn good was the AudioNote kit-1 that I heard with my Sony SCD-777ES as the transport. I always figured maybe someday, but there would probably never have been a time when I'd have that much disposable cash to spend on CD.

So damn, thanks AK and AudioNote Kits! I STILL can't believe I won this thing...

I won some $100 worth of cables 'n' stuff, but had absolutely no use for it, so it was swapped for a McIntosh pen, which I gave to my buddy Walter who kinda "minds the store" here for me when I'm gone. I also won a Grado Black cartridge, same story on it, I swapped it for a penlight flashlite which I gave to Lauriann.I DON'T believe in "hogging" stuff-if Sandy ever wins the lottery, ALL of Sandy's friends will benefit...

No prob Bill - couldn't have gone to a nicer guy (except maybe me) You'll have to post some pictures, and give some impressions when you have it running. Glad I had a chance to talk to you at the fest. Enjoy the DAC!
