Funny you brought this up now. My 18 year old, came home the other day raving about it ( having just discovered it). I suspect I tried to show it to him when he was younger and he had no interest then (maybe I'm wrong. I have tried to share classic gems with my kids and they've generally been receptive and impressed).

Showed it to an elderly friend a couple months ago. Also Spike Jones' Cocktails for Two, and Laurel and Hardy's The Music Box.
He passed away last week, gonna miss him hard.

To me the funniest part is Bud's consternation at Lou's responses. Else the schtick is pretty much stupid.

I remember listening to this with my dad on KMOX 1120 in St. Louis. I was pretty young at the time, but I can still hear him chuckling and almost spitting out his coffee. An all time classic that is probably lost on the younger generations. Every time I hear this sketch, it takes me back to the kitchen table on Sunday morning listening to an old Zenith tube AM radio. Thanks for the memories.
