This morning I was looking at the pics of those new speakers Venus Hi Fi is selling specifically the tall shiny black towers and my GF walks by and see the pic and is like ooooooooooooh can we get some like that!

I was like WTF! NOOOOO! How dare you say that!!!

And she was like those ones in the living room are so ugly and old fashioned looking and they way are too big!

I was like GRRRRRRRR Which ones??? Assuming she meant the Altecs and she says the ones in the back! My CV's!!!! I was like BIATCH! (to myself of course) I tried explaining to her how they were one of a kind etc. etc. and even asked if she had ever heard any other speakers anywhere that sounded as good.

She of course said no they sound the best she ever heard and I said HAH! there ya go and she squints at the monitor and says those ones are $1000 a pair so they must sound good!

And I said well the CV's in the living room were $1000 a piece! in 1991 or 1992 and that was in 1991 dollars!! And I went on trying to explain inflation and how much they would cost today and she said But what did you pay for them? WTF! does that have to do with anything!!! And you know what she said?

Well those ones are smaller and if we had ones like those I could fit more stuff (I assume knick knacks) in the living room.

I was like BIATCH PLEASE!!! (to myself again) and she brought her daughter in to look and her daughter of course agreed with her. So I brought my son in and he gave me the same look I had (CRAZY BITCHES) and agreed with me.

Then we all agreed to get a new house with two living rooms one for the women and one for the men

The wife went to vail on busness on thursday. I shipped the last child out to his sisters on friday after school!

My new MMG's showed up friday afternoon so I have had the house all to MYSELF for almost three days!

Thor I feel your pain. When we first moved in my stereo was bannished to the then unfinished basement. Well as luck would have it that was the best thing, because now it's finished and its mine. I have been trying for years to get some nice small decent system upstairs in the livingroom. No luck! I have a small computer sound system stashed in a corner. It's better than nothing. At least she is willing to let you have your rig where you want it. She will see the light.

Not 100% positive, but am pretty sure that a Wife, GF, or a Woman is the reason that I have Big, Old and Ugly 1984 vintage Klipsch Heresys in my living room.

Got them at the local thrift for $35.

They were probably replaced with a small, nice and tiny Bose system to keep the peace on the home front.

A few years back when I first got involved selling stuff on Ebay, I considered "Thankthewifestereo" as an id, but decided I didn't want to po any female bidders.

One of my rules for buying is to always ask the female for a price on the equipment. They hate it, want it gone, and think $10-20 is a big kill.
