i recently bought a Yamaha CDC 905 off eBay. Got it from the original owner...it’s in excellent condition. The seller said he had never had any issues with it.
I got it before Christmas and was only able to test it briefly when I unpacked it. Everything seemed to work fine.
Just this week I was moving it to it’s full time home and it began acting up. Now I can’t get the tray to stay closed. With a disc or empty...it closes, goes through a few revolutions and opens. It will not stay closed.
I took the hood off and the laser carriage never moves up at all. I have changed the belts and cleaned the laser, nothing changes.
What happened. I really want this thing to work. I contacted the seller and he says he never had an issue with it. Even offered to make things right. I don’t think it’s his fault. I have googled everything I could think of. Read something about “being out of time”, “switches not working”, “disengaging...”, don’t have a clue.
Any ideas?
