Marantz 22xx wood case question

my 2252B fits sweetly NAKED (:tresbon: ) into my wc-22. the original wood for it is the wc-122, but i didn't like the look of it - more of a dress-up kit than a cab. the only issue with the 2252b/wc-22 combo is the two rear bottom screws don't line up - but the front ones do, and that's all i need!!

That's pretty much all anybody needs for regular use. Heck, if it is only going to sit there on the shelf and play music, you could probably get by with no screws holding them together. Be careful if you move/ship the things, though: if you can't have all four screws anchored, it would be safer to pack/ship them separately, rather than rely on the reduced strength of only two screws. I might be erring on the side of over-caution, but better safe than sorry. You could always drill another set of holes to match up, of course, but personally I'd be very reluctant to do that. :nono:

2215B wood case to a 2285B?

Can the case from the 2215B fit on a 2285B? I have the 2285 sans wood and was looking at buying a 2215B just for the wooden case. Looking at the various threads here it appears that all the 22xx series cases fit ALL the 22xx receivers...correct??
Thanks

might there be someone who makes new ones online somewhere? Seems like this would be a highly profitable business- why get a nicked cabinet for 150 when you can get perfect for 100? Maybe someone does this out there...

I just want to be sure that the case from such a small wattage unit will fit the larger unit.

Thanks

...they all have the same faceplate dimensions (44cm wide) But the small ones 2215/2216 are only 29cm deep. Have a 2216 cabinet here that has a total depth of 32cm. A 2285 needs at least ~ 40cm. So a 2215 would fit in a 2285 cabinet but not the other way around.

the vented area is metal, little bit thicker than original WC-22, WC-23

Thanks for the info. :thmbsp: Does this cabinet fit over the regular casing or does the regular casing come off first?

The original metal hood can stay on, or remove it for better ventilation. Just remove the plastic feet from the receiver before you slide it into the cabinet from the front.

I'll take one! PM sent. I'll sell my old one on ebay. Gotta have a new one to go with the 2270 from Echowars (looks and sounds like new)!

I'd be interested in one for 2265. I almost pulled the trigger on the NOS one on the bay but decided to hold off. Any one make them in black?
