McIntosh? I HATE McIntosh!
Before buying an almost all McIntosh system (MCD201/C220/MC252) I had fun changing components every 3 months and draining my bank account. Before McIntosh, I would listen to my system for 15 minutes then go play with my kids, or read a book, even watch TV, when I got home. Before McIntosh I rarely bothered to buy new music.
Now I have absolutely no need to change components, I listen to my system so much that my wife and kids barely recognize me, and I am spending a fortune on new music and (re)discovering old music.
Hey McIntosh, have you ever heard of audiophiles? How dare you put the music before the equipment? What possesses you to build amps that go playing for 40 years and never break? How am I going to justify new purchases if your stuff never breaks and sounds just right? Don't you know ANYTHING about business? I am amazed you managed to last as long as you have with such practices.
And what about those big blue meters and black-glass front panels? Do you think that real audiophiles care about looks? What's wrong with brushed aluminum and one ON button?
Don't even get me started with those useless controls like balance and tone. You think you know what music is supposed to sound better than the recording engineers? Do you really want to encourage tone-deaf wanna-be audiophiles to mess around with The Absolute Sound? You might as well bring back that variable loudness of your.
Well. Look let's at the bright side McIntosh. Perhaps by sponsoring AK you'll learn a thing or two about this business you are supposed to be in and finally shape up.
