Well lets hear it!,I gifted a Pioneer SX-737 with Polk monitor 5jr's and a Pioneer PL-514 with a brand new Shure M-92E cart and 3 records,it all went to my friend Denise!.

Rebuilt and modified Acoustic Monitor PSM-1250 Speakers to the nephew :) They now sport Dayton crossovers, extended ports, cab braces and Pioneer woofs.
 
I don't know if it is considered "gifted" or not. I set up a "new" tech/repairman that I met with a system that he owned in the 70's/80's consisting of a Pioneer TX9500II tuner, SA9500II integrated, CT-F9191 cassette, and a pair of Kenwood KL-888Z's for the repair of a couple of my broken pieces. He was exstatic!:yes:

I gifted a Carver MXR-130, Toshiba SD-3980 DVD player, a pair of the infamous Insignia speakers with Dayton 24" heavy-duty sand-filled stands, and fresh 16g wire to my gal's daughter and her husband.

I set it up myself and it sounded pretty danged good.:music:

This year, a Sony STR-7045 with a pair of Bookshelf ARs, a customized Sansui TU-217, a pair of Baby Advent IIs, a pair of Boston Acoustics A70s, a pair of Minimus 7s, a rare metal faced black anodized Realistic receiver, a Toshiba DVD/VCR combo, an Insignia 37" LCD tv, a copy of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker", a small stack of Christmas compliations, and a bunch of spare drivers, all mediocre quality, to the neighbor's kids to blow up.
 
Just a good friend,she's real nice and ave her dad the stereo out of her room-(pure garbage stereo---AIWA SHELF) Any ways,so im hookin her up big something that will sound damn good and play her some vinyl to!.

A pair of "JC Penny" three ways I had kicking around to a guy at work for his BPC stereo at home, that he didn't have speakers for. He ended up bringing the unit into work for his welding area, surprisingly, it actually sounds pretty good. He's all happy. :)
 
My future wifes' son is going to Michigan State. No college kid should be without a stereo system. I gave him a Leak 3400 receiver, Sansui 2000 speakers in MINT condition and a sony CD player. He's real happy.
We listened to it all xmas day and it does sound very nice.
 
Put together a package for a friends boy who just got his own place.
A Pioneer SX-2900 and two pair of big floor standers,Pioneer n Kenwoods.

Should keep him rockin thru the New Year..........

I "gifted" a vintage STROMBERG CARLSON (I believe it's ASR 333)
EL-84 Tube Integrated Amp to a true Gentleman who has been a very good friend to me. This friend recently acquired a nice pair of ALTEC 19's and I thought he should have a nice Tube amp to go along with those big ALTEC's!

Another Console Finds A Good Home

For my soon-to-be Sister-in-law: a 1959-60 Fisher Custom Electra III w/ a Garrard 210 TT. It's got an A30 EL84 amp and sounds fantastic. And she likes it! She's been asking me a thousand questions and is enthusiastic about getting the turntable working.

Hard to top AR1's delightful present but...

I gave out three Sony table radios (the ICF-M1000): one to my dad, one to my 11 y/o daughter, and one to my 12 y/o grandson. The latter two will be able to plug their iPods in.

For my daughter-in-law and son, a Yamaha CR-1020, Pioneer DV-563A universal player, and Aero 109 speakers. I'll thow in an FM antenna, rotator, and cables. This hasn't made it down to SoCal yet - need a delivery truck!
 
very nice!,I didnt have much else to give also most people really dont care about good audio gear so I figured i'd find the one person who would care about it and hooked her up good!,downside I'm still waiting for her other 2 records so the gift is gonna be late!

I gave my son a Dayton/Parts Express subwoofer, one of those Radio Shack amplifiers and 2 satellite speaker kits for his Christmas present. Needless to say, both he and his wife were most interested in what was in all those big boxes that required her to remove a chair from the living room to get them near the tree.

He plays lots of video games and wanted a set up to run with his Xbox, Wii, etc. She'll like it for to play the grandson's sing-along CDs - and Daddy built 'em!. Should be fun!

Gave my mother and sister each a Tivoli M1. Neither had any conception of what they were, and I didn't talk them up very much. Hopefully, after they listen to them for a while, they will realize that they are a step up from a GE under cabinet radio. If nothing else, they will look good sitting on a shelf.

A couple friends Ashlie and Sammy, had a JVC boombox die last summer.
I gave them a Mitsubishi (DX-R15?) receiver from the eighties to at least have music to listen to.

They only had the JVC boombox speakers to use with the receiver, which sounded rather wretched. But it was something, and good enough for them until they find some decent speakers.

Well one of Ashlie's wishes for xmas was some better speakers. So I felt mercy and gave them a pair of ESS model 10's.
Refoamed woofers, new crossover caps, and a little polyfil.

I brought them over and we lashed them up right away. Ten times better. It actually sounds like Hi-Fi.
When I left, they were getting into some serious listening......and playing stupid mario 3......
 
My son said the Marantz 2265 I gave him last year was dying, so I hooked him up with a Rega Mira 3 int. amp. Now we'll see how far onto her deathbed the old gal is..........
