Here's the back of the ole minivan after our out of town Halloween party Sat night. How'd all those consoles get in there????

Here's the first suspect....

That's some pretty wood grain that's protected under a layer of glass...smart..:yes:

One side view....both are identical...

The TT....

and much of the original documentation.....

The outboard speaker....

And the guts....darn! no horns..... :no:

Speaking of guts.....here's the beef!

A 185 series amp, with what looks to be a pristine set of '58 vintage tubes. Two 12AX7's, a 7025, a 5U4GB, and a quad of 6V6GT's, all with the same date codes....:thmbsp:

However, it gets better..... :banana:

The best for last....

Oh yeah! a very nice example of JFK's executive Ghetto Blaster..... :banana:

Some of those resistors don't look very 1965ish. I'm guessing someone's been under here before.....

And a bonus....

A beautiful walnut record cabinet. I originally thought it was a matching piece, but the trim is slightly different. It's obvious someone put a lot of thought into getting a nice compliment piece of furniture to the Allegro

This cabinet is already been subject to a clean up with light abrasives, restor-o-finish, and wax and feed. It cleaned up beautifully, with all of those marks on the top surface gone. I've got it stuffed full of records already...

All in all a good haul this weekend, not even counting the Technics SL-D2 and donor pair of KLH 17's I also got from the seller of the Fisher....

The Allegro is gonna clean up real nice. I just gotta find some of those gold knob caps somewhere....

Dude. You are so psyched! My question...did you get all of that in your minivan? If so, where did you leave the family?
Really nice haul, but I have been to your place...Where is all that going?

Kids stayed home this weekend with a sitter.

Bit of a stressful trip actually because I don't know if you heard about the shooting Friday night at the movie theater 2 miles from my house, but the shooter lives in my neighborhood, and the local Barney Fifes let him get away, even though they surrounded his house at 4AM Sat morning. He then got into one of the other neighborhoods locally, rang someone's doorbell non-stop until a lady answered, and then stuck a gun in her face and took her car....They still haven't found him. This same crook had been burglarizing houses in our neighborhood and was out on bail.

I'll tell you what, if someone tries ringing my doorbell at 0400 and doesn't stop, me and my buddy Colt .45 will be answering the door together.

Anyway, here's where two of the pieces went....

I made some space for the maggie console in the garage. I was originally going to strip the amp, but I'm having 2nd thoughts since it's in such nice shape.....:scratch2:

I have one but it has Zenith tube gear instead of Fisher.
The swing out speakers are powered through
the hinges
or can be attached with wire
if unhinged,funky design.

..about the funky speaker connectors. If you look at the close up of the front of the tuner/preamp and amp, you can see the copper hinges. The hinges are wired to be the speaker connectors for this system. Do you have any idea how to get inside the speaker boxes without messing anything up?

BTW, how's the weather up on Bailey's Island? We used to spend a couple of weeks every summer at the "Blue Heron" or one of other other friend's family cottages. It was cold enuff to use the fireplace in the evenings in the middle of the summer, so I can only guess that it's getting downright nippy now....

That Magnavox is one clean looking console - both in condition and styling. Certainly one of the nicest I have seen. I looked through all my Magnavox info and was not able to identify that model. I see you acquired some literature with it - are the model and year specified?
