I'm working double time on this one, so he can pick it up at the fest. The woodworking has gotten much easier too, now that I have done a few. Here's the base Ken, the two small holes are for the RCAs, and the larger hole to the right is for the power switch. The switch has a nice blue LED built into the button to indicate power on.:thmbsp: This is two coats out of what will likely be 10, of tung oil. In between coats, I rub it with 000 steel wool, then buff it (by hand) with 0000 steel wool. I love this mahogony, there are so many different colors that show up.:yes:

BTW, in the first pic, you can see where I tried to match the grain around the corners. Not too bad for the first time I tried it.

and the PT is all re-insulated and meg tested to 1000vdc. I wish I could find a can for this dude, I'd maybe try potting it.:scratch2:

The hammered copper turned out much nicer looking than the rustoleum hammered copper I recently tried using. All I could get was a cheesy looking orange/yellow finish. What did you use?
 
Hmmmm, I used rustoleum too. I bet you got a bad can, because there's no way to do it wrong. I just shake the piss out of it, and apply it fairly heavy.:dunno:
 
Mitre saw for sure, and set it up with an angle square every time.:yes: That stuff looks excellent, what is it?
 
I don't have an opinion, but it's a schematic I've looked at in the past to use with a pair of TO-300s I have stashed away.

7F7 > 7N7 > 5B255M would be my tube compliment, though.
 
Don't have an honest oppinion on that one Jay, the tube compliment is nice, it does
have more drive then needed but then they knock it back down some with feedback.

For a simple 20 watt 6L6 circuit I'm attaching what I built for the wave 20's but setup
for a 350v supply here as the wave 20's only had 315, just in case you are looking for
alternatives this one performs well, couldn't be much simpler and I'm running it with no
loop feedback (but left the option with the split driver cathode) with quite good results.

I'm attaching both the fixed bias version and cathode bias variants of the basic schem.

It does only need 1 dual triode per channel so you'll have an extra hole unless you can
come up with a good use for the third, if you had a single triode to use for the driver or
inverter then three tubes could be utilized... humm.......

Anyway just tossin it out there.. :)

As in from the plate of the outputs upto the phase inverter plate and cathode?

Everytime I try that (at least in spice) phase balance goes out all wacky on me?
 
Oh whoops, I must have missed a refresh, I was referring to the schem Jay posted, which is an all balanced design = easy differential feedback.
 
I'm contemplating the one Jay posted using the old RCA PA amp heads I've got, they already use 2 6L6G's and a 6SL7GT, I just need to get rid of the preamp section and the 70 volt line part of the output, they have 4,8,16 ohm and 70 volt line.
