More fun with the new camera... the Qb cabinets started falling apart so I moved the drivers and x-over to a nice cabinet, making sure to mirror the upper drivers.

What happened to those A/D/S?

They are/were Braun L1030's, Sir Bryd. I obtained them from from a fellow AKer after which I salvaged the midranges, a woofer and tweeter. The mids are being put to good use...as are the cabinets.

What did that do for the sound? They look musch more smaller.

You're right. The volume of the cabinet is 25% less than the original QB cabinet. I ended up adding approximately 1 LB. of polyfill after adding and subtracting a couple of times to get the bass right. Fast, tight bass with less midrange boom.

can't make any claim to vintage Infs. Mine are the Primus 362s with improved internal bracing and damping material. Got em that way from orig owner and they do indeed sound great to me, less than 1 yr old.

I have a few sets, but none upper end. Original Qe's were my first set of real speakers - still listen to them. Picked up a free pair of Quantum Jrs last year and re-foamed them. Also have later model Primus 150s, 250s, and sub. They're all good.

Here a pair of Quantum Jr's. The woofer isnt original but it is the Infinity replacement as,at the time of replacement, there was no original in production and no Ebay. The mids are not original but they are a massive set of 2" 8 ohm Peerless drivers and sound smooth and powerful.

Have to believe the Peerless drivers sound good with those. Here is a pic of one of mine with homemade grill.

Very nice Lico, all original and looks to be in very nice shape. The 1 1/2 Peerless mids are wonderful drivers. I remeasured the Peerless mids in my Quantum Jrs and found they are actually 2 !/2 " and provide a nice transistion between the 12" woofer and the EMIT. I have no idea where these drivers were once applied as I cant think of any Infinities that utilized them....With what are you driving your Qjrs? Right now I have them set up with a Yamaha CA-1000 which seems to work really well.

I'm always trying different out amps & receivers out for grins, but have found the Jrs are a good match with by Pioneer SX-1050.. One of these days I'll add a vintage Yamaha to the collection...

Theres one on the bay now...Black Kappa .......* Not Mine*

What do you think of the CS 3006 EMIT R's? I recently got some 3006's, and the R seems brighter than the K or originals.

i know they pop up pretty frequently it seems just don't have the play money right now to get it. As for the emit-R's I've never heard any other emits to compare them with so I can't say

I figure this is as good as any place to make my first post here.
