I've been watching this Sonic Bliss record mat on ebay for several months and after a bit of e-search, I decided to give it a try. It's made from a light weight rubber compound in somewhat of a honeycomb pattern that is supposed to dissipate vibration through the air gaps in the mat. I am impressed. The mid and upper frequencies have a much clearer definition and bass delivery is smooth and deliberate. More listening is required for a more objective conclusion, but so far, I'm totally hooked.

It looks exactly like non slip liner material.
I know from experience that the stuff I just mentioned damages the vinyl.
I can't say categorically that your product is what I'm assuming it appears to be(to my eyes),therefore I could be wildly mistaken.
 
I've owned one for awhile and currently use it on my Garrard Type A with good results. I cut it to size to fit the 10.4 inch platter. It seems to help in cutting down on surface noise and rumble while also improving the overall sonics of the turntable.
I also use a homemade 5mm cork mat that goes on the platter first, with the Sonic Bliss sitting on top of it. After trying various different mat combinations this seems to work the best on the Type A for me. I also tried the SB on my Thorens 160Super which sounded nice, but I prefer the Herbie's that is currently in use on the 160.
Overall, the Sonic Bliss is a decent affordable mat, but you might be able to achieve the same results with a heavier grade shelf liner material. I personally haven't tried to do a comparison, but the material seems to look about the same for the most part and costs alot less.

Why don't you guys use felt material and cut a nice circle and use that?

I have a felt mat on one of my ARs (the other has a black foam AR mat from the 80's models on it). I don't like the felt. Too much static.
 
I forgot to mention that this mat is claimed to have anti-static properties. I use an anti static gun with every record I play and noticed that the record now peels away from the mat with a static sound to it when finished playing. I thought maybe the mat was inducing a static charge so I dropped a few loose hairs on the LP and they slid right off. Seems to work.
 
After listening to records using the Sonic Bliss TT mat on both my Dual 505-2 and Technics SL 220, I can honestly say that this mat works. Not only did it improve definition and sound stage on both turntables, it brought the sound quality of the Technics very close to the Dual. Definitely worth its modest investment.

Never knew about the static. Thats a heads up for me I have never made one but was getting ready to for my AR. I will have to keep looking I guess.
 
I've looked at those and if there is a difference between them and the Black Drawer liner material Sears and most tool companies sell for guys to line their tool boxes I can tell it.

You don't want to know how cheap the Sears stuff is.
