got my 2325 back today, had power supply caps replaced along with about 15 other caps as well as cleaned and tested. sounds a lot better! but i did notice that if i turn the volume up past 1 o'clock with the cd player off I can hear faintly radio stations. the sations don't change if I mover the tuner though. I NEVER play it past 10 o'clock so it's a moot point but I am curious.

ah - well - a little transfer in the circiuts or switches is not unusual at those levels -
But maybe the 2325 itself or a speakercable is pickin up some signals. You could try a ferrite-core around the speakercables - and see if it helps.

the fact that i have a power strip connected to an outlet that is controlled by a dimmer have any effect?

That's about the worst possible thing to have inline with your audio gear!

Find an outlet that doesn't have a dimmer on it!

Very audio-gear unfriendly, and I would not trust one even if it was turned on full to the stop. Get rid of it, or put the gear on another line.
 
I just grabbed a long extension cord from work and will try this afternoon in different outlets. if it is the outlet would a power conditioner remedy that? the reason I ask is that due to space I don't have many options.

Nope, not at all....

All a decent conditioner does is take noise off a good AC waveform and prevent cross-contamination from device to device...taking a sawtooth wave and turning it into a pure and clean sine wave takes a lot more than even the best audiophile power conditioner could quite possibly do...

You could take the dimmer out and put in a regular on-off switch if nothing else...

I also connected the cd player to the tape in instead of aux and it is DEAD SILENT!!!!!! :yes: :yes: :D :D
