Greetings! :music:

Updated my set with a Philips cd880 with tda1541 S1, Philips cd960, Philips dac960 with tda1541a S2, and a Philips SCD2000 prototype multichannel SACD player. That SCD2000 is quite unique, only 4 exist, build by Philips/Marantz to introduce the multichannel SACD in 2000 at audio hifi shows.

:music:

Update:
Sold the Marantz cd11le, bought a Marantz cd14 and a Philips LHH2000:

http://www.marantzphilips.nl/Philips-LHH2000

Got a Philips CM100 with it, its Philips' first cdrom player, based on the Philips cd100:

Well, my parents aren't into HT, so I have to get by with what I can afford, which isn't much. Except the TV, which I didn't buy.

Sony 40" 720p HDTV
Realistic STA-47 receiver (dad's from high school)
Technics SB-2665 front speakers
Baby Advent rears (dual stereo, not quad)
Sanyo VCR
Magnavox DVD player without upconversion

Basically, it sucks, except for the TV and the Advents. I think it would be a small miracle if we got a better DVD player, but a new receiver is possible, out of my pocket, if I happen to come across one.

KCEA ??? RIGHT ON !!!
memories 89one
broadcast from well to do, Menlo-Atherton High School
Intresting. It is one of the presets on the Denon 3808CI receiver's internet channels. I listened to it quite a bit when I got my receiver. I am a big fan of that era's music (especially Sinatra), so I like that channel.:thmbsp:

I have made some changes since that pic was put up. I changed out the rack below the TV and moved that TV to my bedroom and got a Sony 60 inch for the living room. In the last few days, I added some Monitor Audio RS6 speakers for two channel listening in my living room. The Denon receiver has a mode that will push all two channel sources to the RS6 speakers and any multichannel sound to the NHT SB2s. I just got it set up over the weekend and I really like the flexibility. I will post pics of the new speakers in the setup soon.:thmbsp:

Hey Archie!! I recognize that room!

But to be truthful, I think it looked better when the ADC 303AX's were where the Advents are now. :>)

They're looking very nice in my living room, thank-you very much. Glad to find you here. I joined this forum while ago but didn't make much used of it til lately.

McIntosh 250 amplifier
modified Dynaco PAS-3X
Wharfedale W60s
Gemini CD Player(!)
and a Lafayette tuner

all mounted on or in an Ikea Expedit bookshelf - its hard to find components that will fit into a 13" wide space!

going to add a cheap Hitachi linear tracking t-table, upgrade the CD player and speakers (Thiel / Quad?).

My livingroom system is quite minimalistic. I live in a shared apartement, so I like to keep it simple and user-friendly in there.
It sounds pretty good, though :)

Technics SL-1610Mk2
Sansui AU-G90X
Pioneer HPM-100's

There's a CD/DVD player connected, too, but I don't even know what brand it is, as I only play real records :D

Added some new Monitor Audio RS6 speakers since my last pic::banana: (I usually listen with the grills on, but I took one of them off for the pic). I prefer the look of the grills off, but I have 3 fiesty schnauzers that make that a scary proposition.:D

The Denon AVR3808CI has a mode that will send all two channel audio to the RS6 speakers and all multichannel to my NHTs. The RS6 speakers are sounding better every day. My "Kind of Blue" album (in both SACD and vinyl) never sounded so good.:thmbsp:

Fronts: Boston Acoustics A150's
Center: SpeakerCraft AIM LCR One
Surrounds: Cambridge SoundWorks Ensemble I's
Preamp: Harman Kardon PT 2500

We also have a Proceed AVP, and AMP5 in disrepair.

my living room system is my less shockingly good stereo right now. But it still kicks some ass when the price is taken into effect.

Most of it is relatively new too.

Denon avr-somethingorother, not totl at all, but very good home theatre receiver with 6.1, DTS, DD, pro logic II etc. maybe 7 or 8 years old. bought it cheap from discount place.

marantz cd player

pace digital dvr

sony dvd player (with divx playback, my lifeline for the time being)

old sanyo vcr that is gradually tracking less and less well, but ok for kid's cartoon playback.

Samsung 42" Plasma (1 year old) - AMAZING TV.

Reel Acoustics RS-1 (google it, great performing inexpensive 5.1 speaker system, 4 satelites, 1 center, 1 powered sub (er... bass module), AMAZING (although the center I feel doesn't live up to the rest).

but I'm currently using only 2 of those surrounds while my infinity rs-6b modded pair are my upstairs mains, subwoofer's out of hte system, phantom center, overall the sound is better with just the two full range great quality front speakers and a pair of surrounds.

There ya go. it SOUNDS amazing, although mostly due to the infinities, but when setup right the RS-1 setup is really amazing too. Especially great for dts audio cds imho.

No vinyl upstairs - no phono ins on the denon. And no room for it either.

My hardcore system is in my studio downstairs of course...

While I don't put anywhere near as much thought in my living room system as I do on main rig I think it's pretty good. I run a Marantz 7701 Prepro in a DSX Wide configuration powered by Rotel iAmp with MK Sat 1 monitors with matched sealed subs with Boston Center and dipole surrounds. Video is a 51in Samsung 8500 plasma with Oppo for Blu-ray and CD, I also stream Netflix, Spotify, music files and Time Warner does the channel tuning. Budget Audio Audioquest power and RYAN cables, nothing fancy for speaker wire.
The x32 room correction makes a really nice improvement in bass and dialog.1453702902411-1166330397.jpg
