If you can't dial them down enough, yes, but it's just two resistors to add the requisite additional attenuation. You determine the resistor values by inserting an additional adjustable L-pad at the driver, dialing it in, and measuring the resistances between terminals 1 and 2 (the parallel resistor) and 3 and 2 (the series resistor).... :yesI've got your M19 crossovers on it with dual L-pads on each crossover... so you're saying I need more than that?

I looked at those earlier, too. My thought was that I don't necessarily need the 'Waves to go deep, since I have subwoofers to spare. Would like, however, to know what "ultra-flat to 2K" means in reality.
I'm excited now, I just placed my parts order to build myself a pair of Ewaves!
I'm going with the standard Pyle/220ti HF setup and I'm going to try out some Eminence Beta 12A-II for the woofers.
I'm going to build some cabinets for them styled after the Klipsch Cornwall II only with a narrower baffle since I'm shooting for around 4.75cf and the Cornwalls are over 6cf. Should be good for a 43hz F3. They are going into my 2 channel music only setup so I should be happy without a sub![]()

Qts is pretty high, might not give the tightest bottom end around.

No clue with respect to cutoff, but if you review Brandon's polar measurements, you'll see it there, but also find that you're working well below where they have lost pattern control.
Their size is deceptive; a substantial part of that is mouth roundover, not the "business" portion of the waveguide itself, which is roughly equivalent to the standard eWaves.
That's part of why we've stayed in the 1.5 kHz region and 2226H will play up there; 1.2 kHz is probably as low as I would go with that combo, trading off compromises.
I did not cut the waveguide in the 4507 cabinet. The 4507 is upside down with the waveguide on top..& hanging over the edge.. I am sure that wouldn't mess with any polars..Have you cut the QSCs into 4507s? Was the 2x4 in the way...?![]()

That would be pretty interesting too.. One thing you have to remember too though, is the LE14 and the 2235 are meant to be more of a sub type woofer, more so with the 2235. The xmax for it is something like what.. 17mm on the 2235? The xmax on mine is only 6mm.. and even with that small movement, I've been pretty shocked at the amount of punch I'm getting.. Because of the much lower xmax I had with mine, I really was sweating if they would be up to the job.. They FAR surpassed my expectations..
LE14 were used in several speakers including the 250Ti.Remember, 2235H was used in JBL's famous 2 way monitor, 2235H. While its a bit of a stretch, it works in a fantastic fashion in my E'waves!

I'm considering another morph with similar intent:
I'm going to cut the flange and round-over off of 3 sides of my QSC guides. The flange adjacent to the mid-woof will be kept. I'll replace the circular round-over with a spiral profile (tangent with a larger starting radius) done in wood.
I "think" this will accomplish 2 things:
Lower the cut-off...slightly
&
Decrease diffraction products
Striving for critical mass...enough thought exercise...gotta build!
Dan, I just received the QSC waveguides that Vaughn (Matt) let go of yesterday. I am going to be using them with my B&C DE25 drivers and 2226H or 2225 in a "4507" cab with the 5 part x-over and see how it goes. Not much to that horn when you are used to dealing with cast and wood designs is there?I'm looking forward to hearing the results. I agree with your assessment when comparing a good 2" to a 1" in a well thought out design. The smaller drivers can sure make a good accounting for themselves in these ewave designs though :yes:
I'm honored you quoted me, Shumacher, but you and similost are working with things way beyond my meager budget. I'm still surfing the Econo section of these waves.
Nevertheless, I'm excited about the new woofers.
OT, I've been thinking someone artsy should mock up an Econowave logo that resembles the old, scripty Ford Econoline emblem. I think that would be sweet. :thmbsp:
