1.65 to 2.00 cuft, depending upon where you place the front baffle.
Yes, HO works in this cab size; run the box models. Neither variant makes extended bass without assist, and LF takes that better.... :yes:
Im currently building an Econo-waveguide speaker, using an active x-over. One dedicated amp for the CDs, and one for the woofers.
I have everything set up 'temporarily' on the active Xover, until I get a Behringer ECM8000 to take measurements with. Even though everything is set up temporarily, it sounds good.
But over to the issue:
I have noticed something that 'worries' me a bit. I can play really loud with these speakers, and I think it sounds good. But if I turn OFF the woofers, the sound coming from the CDs really hurts my ears - even at lower volumes. Very uncomfortable. But the minute I turn on the woofers - it's not the least bit uncomfortable... is that normal?

Equalization of a specific character at the frequency required to extend the bass response in a controlled manner.
Assisted alignments are an option in BB6P. Most modern plate amps for subs have them built-in, but there's no reason the same principles cannot be applied to full-range systems, properly designed, and within limits.
That's among Jack's most favorite designs. :thmbsp:

Well... after reading this thread for several weeks (a 10K+ post is a Bear to catch up on!!!)... after being lured in by a friend, I MUST say how totally enthralled I've become with it, and totally impressed with Zilch, Jack, Russell, Bauhausler, and too many others to mention... their abilities to work together without egos getting in the way of a incredible project has been wonderful to watch!!!
Measurements guiding the design; not egos, or preconceived notions. What a concept!
I especially loved the sidetrip Zilch made over to the Advent room to install a {gasp} horn in their beloved OLA's. Even converting some in the process. LOL Which brings me to (some) of my questions.
Was that a PR-D95HF-1? Is that the one ya commonly refer to as an 8x8? or the $14 one?
I have a couple of projects in the works, which require horns of narrower scale (sadly) than the wider $10 horn you started with, although I want to use it too on some other stuff later. LOL
but Primarily now, I have a small studio space with equipment on the side walls, video monitors in the front, with custom audio monitors in the corners. We'd like to use a narrower horn (pattern) in those monitors IF possible to keep the spray off the metal equipment faces on the sides and FIVE Flat video screens in front (as much as possible). IS there a compact 60 degree pattern PT horn that can crossover decently low (<1.5Khz)? By compact I mean in the general range of 8" x 8" (or so) Or is that too much to ask? :worried:
I sorta worry that it might be... but that's why I'm asking you Zilch; I figured if anyone knows about a special secret trick JBL horn, it's you. LOL
and IF so, how do we go about getting these horns from JBL? I never did see the right place to order from. & YES... I did skip a bit. I confess. I mighta skimmed over some of those 10,000+ posteszzz but only when it got really late.. and my medz were really kickn my aszz

PT-D95HF-1 is the 8" square, $16, as I recall.

zilch, i showed paul this thread, and jack's project, and he seemed...indifferent...he is very much into his own designs. he had big line arrays going, and some HEE-yuge subs, and also a bookshelf of his own design w/curved sides and a very deep box. interesting guy. he did some extremely precise and accurate cutting on my new baffles, and the chamfers around the ports are things of beauty.
We each have our specialties; I have exhibited my world-class woodworking skills many times in this thread. :lmao:

It's not really a matter of it being "Tall" as there will be absorbant material on the ceiling.
The problem is having sound bouncing off the desk/console, where we can't treat for bounce.

They're Seleniums & I'm not too sure that I trust their specs (particularly their advertised lo-end cut off); but they are cheap as dirt ($5.32@my cost) so I'm not out too much money IF I buy them, test em and IF they are crap, I can toss them and not be out too much. But I'd rather NOT waste the time, stress drivers on them, etc.

Thinking there will also be a less expensive version using Deltalite 2512 as Brandon suggested, I'm not sure whether to do that with standard or deluxe HF yet; both maybe, if it works out.... :thmbsp:

I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what the latest xo design is for the HO variant, trying to get it straight. The lowpass is the same(?) (4.5 mH and 12uF), but not sure about the highpass. L1 still 1 mH, but C1, R1, and R2 are? Also, is it a problem if the DCR of the inductors varies from what is noted on the schematic/BOM?
