Nice! How's it sound? Never heard one before.
About 30 years after the original purchase of my M-4 yesterday I was able to double my power output with a purchase of another mint M-4 from fellow AK'er Danimal.
I just recently picked up a second M-4 . Did a little horse trading with AKer Specialidiot..:thmbsp: Damn fine little amplifiers.:yes:

No official ruling yet Mike. I spent a couple of hours with it yesterday but it was mostly vinyl using an older Grado cartridge on an entry level table. My feeling at the time was that the cart was in the way. I'll spend some more time using the CDP and get back to ya.
But I'd suspect that it has that classic natural sound. The A-1020 was the TOTL integrated of the day.

I owned both a Yamaha A-1000 and an A-1020, though not at the same time. Honestly, the A-1000 is WAAAYY better built. However, soundwise, there was little to no difference. Both had the classic Yamaha "Natural Sound." No coloration, plenty of power and solid, deep bass.

I prioritise sound quality over appearance even to the point where my stance is,that if a component looked like a dog turd but sounded good,it was fine by me.
The Yamaha MX-2000 is(to me)the Grace Kelly of the amplifier world.Visually extremely aesthetically pleasing. :drool:
That it is posessed of good sound quality,also,makes it an amp I'd love to hear. :yes:
Is the MX-2000 bridgeable? :scratch2:
My PCx002M's kind of look like turd, but sound great
IMO, the MX-2000 is a common ground amp per the schematic and seemed to tolerate running bridged when I tested one of mine. :thmbsp:
As long as you feed it the required inverted signal, any common ground amp will run in bridged mode.
Will you be looking at the meter boards? They get toasty and from what I've seen firsthand and read more of, some have factory reworks, some don't.
Thats and issue with one of them---Meters inop. The other is in protect mode
haven't had time to do a preliminary check but I suspect a broken connection.(shipping mishandling)
My first (local CL find) has a small chip out of the glass. After getting into it to check the meter board and install LED's, I found that the way the meter board is mounted puts stress on the board, the smack to the front that must have chipped the glass also cracked the PCB slightly at two corners and I had to brace it. Couple pieces of strategically placed delrin and it's good as new.
