Any Accuphase C-200x pre-amp owners here?

I've had mine for a couple years now, and would like to find others who share in the interest of this pre-amp.

I have the vanilla C-200, if that counts. I've just started using mine (purchased a couple of months ago), after having a P-300 for a couple of years. The P-300 is totally rebuilt, but the C-200 is stock. The sound quality is terrific but I have found it to be scratchy and a bit noisy. DeOxit would likely take care of the scratchy controls but not the noise. Through my Odyssey Audio Tempest preamp the P-300 is silent when I turn it up with no input. But the C-200 produces a fair amount of hiss. There is also a lot of bleed from source inputs to tape.

I'm thinking that this baby needs a bit of refurbishing as well.

Hi,
I own a C-200X and I am still searching a service manual / schematics.

Device is running, some channel probs when cold and you can start barbecue after listening for some hours - the grill becomes very HOT.
Can you confirm this ?

Thanks,
Joe

Hello Joe,

Sorry for the late response.
I don't have any channel problems but YES, the top of the grill gets VERY hot. I was quite surprised.
I am also a bit confused with all the leds used inside...when the lights are turnted out, it looks like a christmas tree inside.

I've got a C-200X, but it's not in use at the moment, as the pots needs some cleaning.
Hot-running indeed, but sweet sounding! I haven't done proper A/B testing, but I think it might be better than my C-222. I'd love to get the matching P-300X, but they seem pretty rare.
