Very nice, can't wait to start on mine if I ever get a non-booked bench. A couple of questions though --- curious as to why you did not install bypass caps on the main power supply caps and also, regarding those ever pesky high and low filter switches, did you pull them off the board for deep cleaning or clean them in place?

The filter amp and control amp boards are complete. For my restoration work, that leaves the flat amp and EQ boards. Question Matt, after soldering each cap or transistor in place, did you verify the connection with a meter prior to replacing the board? I'm not too concerned about it, but I would hate to get this monster all put back together only to discover I had a bad cap, solder joint, or whatever..

Believe it or not, I just have a point and shoot camera, a Canon Powershot A560 with 7.1 megapixel resolution, but I've learned how to tweak the maximum picture quality out of it. I had it set on manual mode and macro on for all the shots, ISO setting was 200 for the board shots, but I had it at 80 and 100 for the exterior shots of it put back together, plus it was on a tripod. I would love to see what I could do with a DSLR, but that's a ways down the road. And yes, the innards are just as clean, those shields on top I can see my face in. 
BTW, I do have shots of the interior after it was cleaned up posted, did you see them?

Thanks man, if I get another receiver to service that uses 22000uF caps I'll be looking those up. Thanks for all the kind comments guys, this is the first monster receiver I have ever had the pleasure of restoring to its former glory and it's now the biggest I own, at least for now. I gained a lot of experience and knowledge of the inside of this beast, so it was a good learning experience for me, and I'm always up for those. :yes:

Awesome job!! and I love that you played RUSH for the first true test. I do that with my gear too only I play 2112.
I have a 1250 as well and I've restored half the boards and this thread is pushing me to do the rest. I have a 1980 that I've had a couple weeks and been listening to it daily and I have to say that the 1250 sounds better to me. Could be that the 1250 has had work done and the 1980 is original. Another project when I feel ready.
