Those are a pair of Bob Carver CRM-2's that have been completely modified by Purdy Creations in Washington.

All are variations on the same theme, built using old Sony Stereocorder transformers.

Both stereo, and headphone output.

Very nice! Did you use any plans or just made them yourself? I got plenty of spare parts and random tubes that i think i could make a few amps just for fun.

just finished this today. A gift to my friend Tom. Magnavox 8601-00, standard mods. adding a pot next to the fuse holder. Wood is black walnut with clear varathane. I need a spray booth if I'm gonna try that again.

6AQ5/6SL7/6BW4 Rec...

Little SE amp I built out of stuff I had on hand...sounds pretty good with the Woodward OPTs...

Man, that is some nice clean work my friend. Let me guess, you have a pair of 600 ohm Senns that you use on the Sony 600 ohm tap? I have a pair of those (Newman clued me in on the 600 ohm tap), but they are waiting. How do you like them on the 807?

6AQ5 I presume? Why does the 6AQ5 sound so much better than the 6V6 to me, esp. up high?

Man, that is beautiful. Have you ever used Tung Oil? I only mention it because it's very easy, and you can vary the visual depth perception by how many coats you put on. I usually end up with somewhere around 8 of the low gloss with a fine steel wool session in between each coat.

thanks Jaymanna. wish I woulda asked about the finish first. I will try that next time. I know this isn't the place but here is the speaker I bought to go with it. 2 8" alnico's. looks a lot like the console did (well, the console was beat up...).

Flea watts. We may not be big, but we're small !!

A tiny Realistic Carnival Model 203. Somewhere around 3 or 3 1/2 Watts.
Totally cute, unfortunately I can only get one channel to work.
Oh well Semper "HI" Fi and all that Eh!
