Currently working on the restoration of a CA1000 III, Japanese version for CA1020???

DC offet for Right Channel 35 mv, Left Channel 45 mv.

Felt the sound to be a bit thin when compared with a Kenwood KA9100. Any comments?

Greetings from Beijing!

If the CA-1020 uses the same amplifier modules as the CR-1020 there is a test point (TP1) at one end of the circuit board and a variable resistor at the opposie end. On the CR-1020 the variable resistor is adjusted to get 10mV between TP1 and chassis ground. Oddly enough the same values apply to the CR-2020.

Got the specs for the B-2 amp adjustments by fax last night and had at it this afternoon. For a piece of electronics about 20 years old it was surprising how close to spec it was. Now it is spot on and sitting in the front hall waiting for UPS. That is one sweet amplifier.

Starting an A/B listening test between my MX-1000 and B2 to select the one that will stay in my main system. Both are cosmetically great, so can't lose there. But, have to hear which one has the best sonic capabilities (to my ears). Must check their DC offset prior to getting serious. Will do so when I do the first switchout in a couple of days. Hopefully, my B2 will be as good as the one you just looked at. Another excuse for many hours of good music. Should be great fun!

A-450 integrated amp

T-700 tuner

Looking for Au-500 or 700 in silver

Well....guess what? The B2 sounds better to me. So the MX-1000 is gone.
Currently have:

CX-1000 preamp.
C-85 preamp (for sale - $125)
B2 running in bi-amp config on the bottom of my speakers.
P-2075 running in bi-amp config on the top of my speakers.
CT-1010 tuner.
KXw-W900U dual cassette deck.
YP-D71 semiauto turntable (2).

JCturboT - That is one fine looking stack of -2000 pieces. Make sure you contact me first if it is ever to go on the block.
