McIntosh AM Loop Antenna

Does anybody remember seeing the plans for building a coaxial AM loop antenna in one of the McIntosh owner's manuals? It used common coax, or any kind you had lying around, nothing special. It was center tapped, as I remember. They worked quite well.

I have looked at the ones I can find on the web without success. Used to build them for clients and can't remember how to configure it now.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

You might try the Berners site for the Mac owners manuals you can download there. I do not remember that discussion in them myself.

Cheers,

David

Thanks, David. I contacted Roger Russell who didn't know about it. Davy O'Brien gave me the info decades ago, but I can't find his drawing.

Yep, sounds like one of Dave's documents that would be great to archive here and elsewhere.

Cheers,

David

AM Loop Ant

It can be found in the MAC4300V owner's manual pages 8-9.
It should be attached if I have done this correctly.

Thanks very much for posting that out of the manual. Unfortunately, that is not the type of coax "loop" I used to build. Maybe I'll try building one to see how it works.
