Behold! the Sunny Vox model 6000!

I have this "James Bond" combo unit and would like advice about two things:

1) it works well for what it is, but the motor is very noisy, even when the speed selector is on off. Not really a problem when music is playing at a decent volume, but I would like to reduce the noise of the motor (and it is definitely the motor - I have run it with the platter off and the idler wheel not touching it.

2) I would also like to install a cartridge that has a "flippable" stylus (78/lp). Based on the photograph I have provided, would anyone know of such a cartridge?

Please forgive the low-hi detour. I love my better audio equipment, but I have a soft spot in my heart for units like this too!

thanks,

Michael

That thing is waaay cool!

I have the same cart on my mono portable, and the stylus works just fine with 78s and microgroove. We're not talking about audiophile quality to begin with! Replacement styli are still abundant and cheap.
