Denon 6-disc changer from GW. Did they make a single play adapter?

Dear Sir or Madman
I picked up a DCM-450 at Goodwill today for 4 smackers. It's clean, but have no idea if it works besides lighting up. I know that any 6-disc cart with the interlocking 6 rings should fit, but I have also heard that there was a single play adapter made for these. I would assume that too could be a Pioneer or anything that would fit the same cartridge. Anyone have a changer with this adapter???

Uses the same as the Pioneer PD-M series, I think. My DCM-444s do. That means only the label-down flip out (not slide out) Pioneer magazines.

I've got a Pioneer PD-M6 (first six disc changer) with the single disc adapter. Don't know if it will fit your Denon or not. But if the Denon will use Pioneer six disc carts, I would imagine it would use the single disc cart, too. It pops out of the player like a normal single disc player tray. You just set the disc in label side down, and push the 'drawer' back in (closing is not motorized on my Pioneer).

Does the single disc adapter have a model number on it?

No markings on mine, either.

Six disc mags are Pioneer PRW 1141, PRW-1139, PRW-163, PRW-1023. I have dozens of them, somewhere.

I forgot, Onkyo also used this magazine type.

The Onkyo part # for the 6 CD mag is KC-M6, logic would say the single Onkyo is KC-M1 but can't confirm that.

Found a Magnavox cart among mine, too. Three big boxes of the 6-CD mags, somewhere over 50 of 'em. I even gave a ton of them away when I sold the last 2 of my Pioneer players, so who knows how many I had all told. More than enough for my two Denon players...

I have a DCM 777 and think it's an excellent well built player. When I found mine it only had the single disc cartridge. I already had a few Pioneer cartridges so I was set. This player has never had any problem. So far it's been the best player I have found at any thrift. And there is a model # on the Denon single disc magazine. PRW-172. And the model # on the Pioneer six disc magazines I have is PRW-1141. Some have a shiny face on the magazine front, and some don't.
 
thanks. do you think these magazine changers be comparably in sound and quality to a denon single play dcd-1700, which i've read on ak is one of the best denon's for the $$. (i have an onkyo tx-3500 single play which i enjoy, but i like the random play of the changers.)
 
I had almost every one of the Pioneer PDM series from the 6/60/500/600 seris etc. for years, and the sound of them got better and better as they went along. I like the 444s better (has a coax out, too), but haven't heard the other Denons you mention.
