I had no idea he was still alive; there can't be many of his era left :-(
He was a funny man from a brief but incandescent era of cerebral, satirical comedians.

If memory serves, he had a bit lampooning the then ascendant hifi craze.

First of him I remember hearing, "John. Marsha." the two word soap opera. I particularly recall hearing "When in the courfe of human eventf", what's with all the 'f's?"
Funny stuff indeed!
Then there's the Lawrence Welk sendup,"Turn off the bubble machine".
Last I recall was the big Broadway production ad for Campbell's Great American Soups with the great Ann Miller. The most expensive commercial ever made at the time (1970), look it up.

Sad to hear of his passing. Guys my age will remember when 'Camp Granada' was a big hit, way back when.

History of America was a pleasant suprise I obtained in a bulk lot reel to reel purchase on ebay. How about the Dragnet spoof, great humor.

Actually that was Allan Sherman, another comedy great cut from the same cloth. Sherman died way too young (back in the early 70's) and I'll always remember his album "My Son the Folk Singer" (I grew up with that one).

Stan Freberg was right up there with Tom Lehrer and Allan Sherman in my book, loved his wry sense of humor. I actually remember him being on one of the funniest episodes of "The Monkees" way back when (he was running a toy factory research department).

A very funny man who brought so much laughter to everyone and lived a good long life. RIP
 
My father bought me several Stan Freberg and Tom Lehrer LPs when I was 12 or so, helped me develop the warped sense of humor I have today. Fortunately, Mr. Lehrer is still with us.
 
Green Christmas was practically forbidden for the radio. Funny funny commercials, Chun King...dogfood? "How do you get a square meal into a round can?" Air force dropping maraschino cherries into a lake Michigan The only record I have is "the original cast." Did I say his humor was clean?

His radio commercial explaining the benefits of advertising on radio was pure genius. I have a few CD's of his material.
