Know anything about these old Bud Fried speakers? (pics)

These seem to be a set of Model O subwoofers and perhaps a couple of C speakers from Bud Fried.?? I've been digging around on the IMF Electronics page but there aren't many pictures for me to go off of and the back of the speakers didn't really help.

They seem like a cool design and a bunch of people like his work online although their is very little seen of these. These are pretty beat and the subs are ugly as hell though. The tweeters didn't seem to be producing any sound although every thing else did. Kind of curious what replacements might be available or how much they'd run if anyone knows. Also, some of the surrounds were coming slightly unglued from the woofers, like maybe two spots, half an inch each. I'm not sure if that is an easy repair or not.

Anyway, just curious if anyone knows for sure what models they were, original price, how they sound, those sorts of things. Thanks!

Those are the first model C and O .

What a ashame the Dynaudio D-28H domes are pushed in. There are no replacements available.

The 6.5" and 10" drivers were made by Dalesford and have bextrene cones.. Those are early models since the dust caps on the 10" are smaller than later versions that used a larger diameter voice coil.

The 6.5" mid bass is aperiodic loaded and the 10" sub is a 1/4 wavelength T-line.

I would be curious to see the size of the Feroba 2 magnets on the drivers

Fried had several oem versions made for him before the company went out of business.
 
The faceplate is smaller on the Morel IRC.

The curves and specs are almost identical.
 
Thanks guys. Do you remember if there was any consensus on the quality of sound of these guys? What they were best suited for or how they should be powered?
 
I never heard a Fried I didn't like. My opinion.

The speakers were intended for high fidelity listening in the home.

I have owned and am currently using the last oem Fried Dalesford drivers with improved T-line loaded enclosures.

I also upgraded tweeters and switched to the series crossover configuration.

The first versions used what appeared to be stock Dalesford drivers

Later versions had thinner lighter cones with a higher sensitivity.

My first Model C kit 6.5" has a 92mm diameter magnet.

The last replacements of NOS have a 102 mm diameter magnet with an extended pole piece.

The first Model O 10" had the sealed dust cap. The later versions have a cloth dust cap with a 135mm diameter magnet with an extended pole piece.

The Model O subs do play flat to 22hz.
