Hi! i'm a begginer in this. i got a philips record player and would like to buy a new cartridge with a diamond stylus. the problem is that i do not know which one to buy. there are lot of same/similar models to mine and i do not know is the weight of that cartridges the right one for my player. if someone could help me to find the right cartridge with diamond stylus. the model is PHILIPS 22GF661/04R or 22GF661-04R. some sites told me to buy GP215, but there are a lot of different versions of that cartridge...
i now have a cartridge with a sapphire stylus..

here are some photos of my turntable/tonerarm/cartridge.

i would like to apologize on my english, i'm from croatia.

What's wrong with the one you have? Have you cleaned the actual diamond at the tip yet to see if it helps the sound? Looks like unit that fits only that line of TT's? I agree with Garagae-a-Records - they'll help you if anyone can :)

Welcome to AK and your English is fine. Hakaplan makes a good suggestion; if your cartridge is putting out sound, a diamond replacement stylus should be all you'll need.

i've got a sapphire stylus right now and it begining to produce a poorer sound than the one that i've been used to..so it isn't about unclean stlyus.but thanks for the tip. i'll try the garage...

hello! i've bought a philips GP215 cartridge with a diamond stlyus and it works perfectly.i think that the bass is slightly weaker than with a sapphire stylus,is it possible??
my next question is how much weight should i put on it?i've somwhere heard that the right way to adjust a tonearm is to move the weight in a position when the arm is horizontal and then set the weight on 3.is it a correct value and way to do it?thank you!
