What's some of the "old sayings" that you've heard over the years?

Like - A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

Or - Hind sight is always 20/20

My grandfather had a saying - If you shoot yourself in the foot, make sure you
take it out of your mouth first! :D

Kamakiri will appreciate this one:

"Wishing for a thing does not make it so, Number One..."

"There's no such thing as a free lunch".....
And my all-time favorite that's an old Eskimo saying ....."If you ain't the lead dog the view never changes."

A few from my Grandfather...

On a lazy man; "He's so lazy, he wouldn't say Soo-ey if the hogs was eatin' him!"

On cheapskates; "He's so tight that when he dies, they'll have to slit his butt-hole to shut his eyes."

When he was angry, he was; "So mad, my ass wanted to eat a stick of stove-wood!"

On foolin' around; "I wouldn't have a woman I could take from another man... Cause there'll always be another, "another man."

On common sense; "Ain't"

Author; James Lofton "Bigfoot" Condrey

On politicians … “He’s so crooked that when he dies it’ll take them 30 days to screw his a-- into the ground”

A few I remember

"If you don't have any thing nice to say. Don't say anything at all."

"Don't let your alligator mouth overload your canary ass."

"The class clown stays after school alone."

Fart handle.

Slicker'n swamp dust on a goat's @$$.

Tighter'n a bull's @$$ in fly season.

Sharp as a bowling ball.
