I know I won't be able to resist experimenting, after seeing those pics... I hope there are no long-term negatives to using this on the Polydome material. I know it may be hard to believe but I swear it "damped" the mids a bit. I have no measurements to prove this, just my opinion.

Did you try turning up the polydome and try to compensate? I wonder what is actually happening in this fix as well as the hairdryer trick.
