THIS is what a proper amp looks like... Ashly FET-500

similost

Rockin and Rollin....
Just got my new sub amp from Tinkerbelle.. .I knew it had a big and beefy power supply was why I wanted it.. but DAMN... this thing is incredible when it comes to BIG...

Sorry the pictures are so bad, but I'm at work and using a really crappy camera they have here..

I kid you not, those caps are larger around that a coke can... The tranny alone must weigh 40 lbs...

Looks very cool - I have a couple of US made Ashly crossovers, but had no idea they'd made amps ..!

LOL.. yeah sure Jack... I'm sure this amp will get those new subs pounding the hell outta my house... Hope I don't break anything. I think I should have enough overhead with this amp :D

I sure sould love to have another one or two of these for my JBL's

I can't wait for the blinkey light show :D

Pulled my XO out last night and got it ready. Should only take me a few minutes tonight to get it all hooked up..

I always wish it was quitting time... I need to be independently wealthy so I can just do what I want..

I was wondering if you still had yours bowtie...

I found another just like mine, with the Kelmar badging on the bay, but they want too much for it. I'd love to have a couple more.. I notice the Kelmar amps have the better fuse holders, along with only one input style, instead of three.. (XLR m and f, and 1/4")

I'd really love to have one each bridged on bottom boxes of my JBL's.. that would give me enough overhead I think.. :D

James the Kelmars generally have tons of hours on them, and most have noisy fans wired for full speed operation, skip em if you can. I have a friend getting ready to unload a few, if he has a non Kelmar Systems 500 i'll let you know.

Here's the original manual, the introduction is fun reading: http://www.ashly.com/retired/manual/man-fet200_500.pdf

If you ever need service, they're a great company to deal with.

Too late.. already got one :D

I could always put pot on the fan to turn it down...

This one is in really nice condition, so even it if has a lot of hours, so long as it powers my subs good, I'm happy.

As much as I want, and say I'd like to have a couple more, I know better... it's not in my future... or at least my wife would say not in the accounts ;)

OK.. just plugged it in and flicked on the switch.. yep, fan runs instantly, but doesn't seem to be running too fast, and is a lot quieter than my EV amp is...

Once I have this in the cabinet it will be going in, I shouldn't really be able to hear it. It will be a LOT quieter than my computer I have in the system too, and quieter than my xbox... I can't believe how loud the fan is on a friggin xbox.. uncalled for..

Oh, and yep, I had read the manual a week or two ago... interesting for sure..

That's one hell of a monster amp, Simi! Can't wait to read your impressions of it.

I'm on the lookout for them now, too.
