Howdy,
Looks like a great job, should be striking finished......Medium Walnut was likely
the original tone, it is really about personal preference, and perhaps what
you may already have in wood finish in your listening space, like other equip.,
speaker finishes, furniture, etc.....My place is mostly red toned woods, like
oak, and cherry, so I lean that direction.....Please update us when complete,

I just used Minwax Sedona Red on the amp in my avatar and think it looks amazing.
Great Job. I would try to narrow down a couple of finish choices and sample them on scrap pieces. The small Minway cans are pretty cheap. Take your time. It's easy to rush & make bad decisions at this point. Good luck. Later JF
Wipe a little alcohol, high concentration, on it (alcohol won't raise the grain) and that will tell you what it would look with a clear finish, no stain.
The classic finish would be a dark walnut for older Sansui, and I think lighter for newer as this unit is.
