Yamaha C-80 preamp : Lights all work but NO sound

These old yamahas are so temperamental! :yes:

Used it for 2 years worked well, put it away in the closet for 2-3 yrs and now no sound at all. Power light comes on and all select button lights work. I tried the tuner, dad & aux inputs and both outputs, nothing :no:

any suggestions as to where to start?

Did you also check the tape out jacks? If there is a signal your problem might be in the left pcb (power supply & output stage).

Whatever it is it is over my head. I took it to a shop. I will let them work it out plus they will give it a good going over. The plan is to put this C-80 back into full time operation.
 
And the problem was????

O.K I've now read the second line of your post....I should really take the time and read the whole post...eh
