The chair, an Eames Lounge Chair, was designed in 1956 and Herman Miller still makes them today. This chair was made in the 90's. It's hard to see but I framed a bunch of my concert ticket stubs and they are on the wall above the CD's. There are also pictures of the Edge playing guitar with the rest of U2 in the background, Billy Zoom of X, Brian Setzer with the BSO, and that's my dad playing the sax.
 
New addition picked up a pair of CLS II's on Saturday.

Yes Dave it was a church..... a looonnng time ago! (it doesn't have the bell tower anymore... so it looks like a very BIG warehouse...) it's 180' deep (long??) and 70' wide... and 50' high more or less.... imagine the basement.... cool... I don't lack storage room anymore....

wow! now THAT is a comfy and stylish listening room. I like the mid-century look too. Would love to hear those custom speakers. I bet the neighbors love those!

I want one of those Eames Lounge chairs! I almost bought one a few months ago, but it was around $800 and I passed. Perhaps next time.

Anyway, great room with a great chair and a poster of my all-time favorite movie as well. Excellent taste Duff.

Thanks to all that complimented my room. It's a work in process, and I'll keep refining it. I just finished repairing and renewing a Sansui 9090 (which is one big, heavy mother), and I am trying to think where I can put it. I believe the rack is too narrow to accept it. I have it sitting in the middle of the floor right now for testing.:music:

I think that might have been a good deal, I have seen them for a few G's. I got to spend a few hours reading in one (vintage). Possibly the sexiest peice of furniture ever made.

Agreed. I paid more for mine and I thought I got a good deal. But mine was in as new condition. A nice used one can fetch almost as much as a new one. The chair is very comfortable but designed for a frame shorter than my 6"2" one. I just slouch down a bit and scoot the ottoman further away. :D
 
It's about time I post some pics of my listening area. Seems like if I wait until I'm satisfied the area is done I'll never post any.

The first picture shows the cabinet and equipment. The cabinet was a thrift store find, I refinished it and added the glass doors and casters. The drawer at the bottom of the left side is designed for cassettes. In the cabinet is Pioneer SA-9100 amp, TX-9100 tuner, CT-F1250 cassette, H-R99 8 track player and a P-D70 CD player.

On the cabinet is my Oracle TT along with my intro to tubes, a Sherwood S-5500 II amp and S-3000 V tuner. The Sherwood's are going to be moved to become our bedroom system later this weekend. Ohm Walsh 2 speakers.

Surrounding the cabinet is record and CD storage and the Teac A-4010 GSL R2R. I use the shelving to display our audio related collectibles. The space where the records are stored originally had a desk top and drawer which I removed and built in the record shelves.

On the other side of the window is more storage and the VPI record cleaning machine. A lucky find at an estate sale, not cheap but a super good deal.

The final picture is the record display I made above the cabinet. It allows for easy exchange of the LP's to rotate the display. Currently filled with Iron Maiden in recognition of Halloween. I change it every 2 or 3 months. Last up was Blues and next will likely be Christmas LP's.

A little modification although this doesn't show the Foreplay III on the left Cornwall.

I was running out of rack space so I modified a mini-console that I recently scavenged.

I give you a true mancave system!
