Fisher E-49 Console

I'll be picking this up tomorrow. It is in beautiful condition physically. I have not applied any power as of yet. Last week I acquired a Scott Custom Console with a SC -asr433 amp and matching tuner. I plan to restore the amp and tuner to be used outside of the console. The Fisher on the other hand to me seems to be a more viable candidate for a restore to original project. Anyone have any recommendations or opinions on this approach? As soon as I have Picts I will post them.

Great site! Thanks a lot! I'm recapping a Fisher 480A amp out of an Electra console. I purchased the amp and tuner, a 490T, off CL so never saw what the console looked like -- from the web site it looks like my tuner and amp were out of an Custom Electra VI E-48

Congratulations on your find. I'm looking forward to pictures and an account of its restoration. After a long dry spell there are suddenly a lot of interesting consoles surfacing. Incidently, I use the 1964 Custom Electra (E-49) x-ray view as my avatar! I thought it looked like the quintessential console.

Good luck with it. :thmbsp: In looking at some of those consoles, I have to wonder, what is "distressed" wood? :scratch2:
 
Just an update but do to prior commitments I could not pick up the E-49 today.
Soooo no picts until tomorrow sometime.
 
were you able to get this console? I'd love to see some pics of what the console looks like --
